Celebrating Our First Summer Barbecue

This summer, KomunIKON hosted its first-ever barbecue event for those of our dedicated group of volunteers who live in the French-speaking side of Switzerland. The gathering took place amidst the stunning Swiss landscape at Lake Geneva, providing a perfect backdrop for a day filled with long conversations, delicious food, and refreshing drinks. It was a unique experience to meet each other in person, transitioning from our usual virtual interactions to face-to-face connections. One of the highlights was meeting one of our mentors, who has been with the project for a long time.

The diversity within our group became even more apparent during this gathering. Volunteers from various backgrounds and with a wealth of life and work experiences came together, making the exchange of stories and ideas incredibly enriching. We had collaborators from almost all our teams (linguistics, IT, strategy and communication), 3 continents and 6 native languages (with Portuguese being by far the most represented language)!  We also delved into discussions about language and communication, which are central to our work. A particularly memorable moment was when we played a board game centred around the visual icons we use. This game not only provided fun but also helped everyone better understand and utilise iconic language. 

Overall, the barbecue was a fantastic success, highlighting the strength of our diverse and dynamic volunteer community. We look forward to many more such gatherings in the future, hopefully also in other geographies where multiple KomunIKON volunteers live in a common region.

Celebrando Nosso Primeiro Churrasco de Verão

Neste verão, a KomunIKON organizou o seu primeiro evento, um churrasco para o nosso dedicado grupo de voluntários que vivem na parte francófona da Suíça. O encontro aconteceu no meio da deslumbrante paisagem suíça, às margens do Lago de Genebra, proporcionando um cenário perfeito para um dia repleto de longas conversas, comida deliciosa e bebidas refrescantes. Foi uma experiência única, onde nos encontrarmos pessoalmente, fazendo a transição das nossas interações virtuais habituais para conexões cara a cara. Um dos destaques foi conhecer um dos nossos mentores, que está envolvido no projeto há muito tempo.

A diversidade dentro do nosso grupo tornou-se ainda mais evidente durante essa reunião. Voluntários de várias origens e de ricas experiências de vida e trabalho se reuniram, tornando a troca de histórias e ideias incrivelmente enriquecedora. Tivemos colaboradores de quase todas as nossas equipes (linguística, TI, estratégia e comunicação), vindos de 3 continentes e 6 línguas nativas (com o português sendo de longe a língua mais representada)! Também mergulhamos em discussões sobre língua e comunicação, que são centrais para o nosso trabalho. Um momento particularmente memorável foi quando jogamos um jogo de tabuleiro centrado nos ícones visuais que usamos. Este jogo não só proporcionou diversão, mas também ajudou todos a entenderem e utilizarem melhor a linguagem icônica.

No geral, o churrasco foi um grande sucesso, destacando a força de nossa comunidade de voluntários, diversa e dinâmica. Estamos ansiosos por muitos outros encontros como este no futuro, talvez em uma região diferente, onde vários voluntários da KomunIKON vivam.

ČEŠTINA

Slavíme naše úplně první letní grilování!

Tohle léto KomunIKON uspořádal vůbec první grilovací akci pro naši oddanou partu dobrovolníků a dobrovolnic, kteří*é žijí ve francouzsky mluvící části Švýcarska. Setkání se uskutečnilo u nádherného Ženevského jezera, které poskytlo dokonalé prostředí pro den strávený dlouhými konverzacemi, skvělým jídlem a osvěžujícími drinky. Poznat se osobně byl jedinečný zážitek, konečně přejít z naší obvyklé virtuální interakce a potkat se tváří v tvář. Jedním z hlavních bodů akce bylo setkání s jedním z našich mentorů, který je součástí projektu již dlouhou dobu.

Rozmanitost naší skupiny se během tohoto setkání stala ještě zřetelnější. Dobrovolníci a dobrovolnice z různých prostředí, s bohatými životními a pracovními zkušenostmi se sešli*y a svou přítomností učinili*y výměnu příběhů a nápadů nesmírně obohacující. Měli*y jsme spolupracovníky a spolupracovnice téměř ze všech našich týmů (lingvistika, IT, strategie, komunikace), ze tří kontinentů a s šesti rodnými jazyky (přičemž portugalština jednoznačně převládala)!  Také jsme se ponořili*y do diskuzí o jazyce a komunikaci, které jsou pro naši práci klíčové. Obzvláště nezapomenutelným momentem byla desková hra zaměřená na ikony, které používáme. Tato hra nás nejen zabavila, ale také všem pomohla lépe porozumět a využívat ikonový jazyk. 

Celkově bylo grilování úspěšné, zvýrazňující sílu naší rozmanité a dynamické dobrovolnické komunity. Těšíme se na mnoho dalších podobných setkání v budoucnu, snad také i v jiných zemích, kde žije více dobrovolníků a dobrovolnic KomunIKONU v jednom regionu.

Celebrazione del nostro primo barbecue estivo

Quest'estate, KomunIKON ha organizzato il suo primo barbecue per il nostro gruppo dedicato di volontari che vivono nella parte francofona della Svizzera. L'incontro si è svolto nello splendido paesaggio svizzero presso il Lago di Ginevra, offrendo uno sfondo perfetto per una giornata piena di lunghe conversazioni, cibo delizioso e bevande rinfrescanti. È stata un'esperienza unica incontrarsi di persona, passando dalle nostre abituali interazioni virtuali a connessioni faccia a faccia. Uno dei momenti più significativi è stato incontrare uno dei nostri mentori, che è con il progetto da molto tempo.

La diversità all'interno del nostro gruppo è diventata ancora più evidente durante questo incontro. Volontari provenienti da vari contesti, con una ricchezza di esperienze di vita e di lavoro, si sono riuniti, rendendo lo scambio di storie e idee incredibilmente arricchente. Abbiamo avuto collaboratori da quasi tutte le nostre squadre (linguistica, IT, strategia e comunicazione), provenienti da 3 continenti e con 6 lingue madri (con il portoghese di gran lunga la lingua più rappresentata)! Abbiamo inoltre approfondito discussioni su lingua e comunicazione, che sono centrali per il nostro lavoro. Un momento particolarmente memorabile è stato quando abbiamo giocato a un gioco da tavolo basato sulle icone che utilizziamo. Questo gioco non solo è stato divertente, ma ha anche aiutato tutti a comprendere e utilizzare meglio il linguaggio iconico.

Nel complesso, il barbecue è stato un grande successo, evidenziando la forza della nostra comunità di volontari, diversificata e dinamica. Non vediamo l'ora di organizzare molti altri incontri simili in futuro, auspicabilmente anche in altre regioni dove più volontari di KomunIKON vivono nella stessa area.

Feier unseres ersten Sommer-Barbecues

Diesen Sommer veranstaltete KomunIKON sein allererstes Barbecue für unsere engagierte Gruppe von Freiwilligen, die in der französischsprachigen Region der Schweiz leben. Das Treffen fand vor der atemberaubenden Kulisse der Schweizer Landschaft am Genfersee statt und bot den perfekten Rahmen für einen Tag voller langer Gespräche, köstlichem Essen und erfrischenden Getränken. Es war eine einzigartige Erfahrung, sich persönlich zu treffen, und von unseren üblichen virtuellen Interaktionen zu Begegnungen von Angesicht zu Angesicht überzugehen. Ein besonderes Highlight war das Treffen mit einem unserer Mentoren, der schon lange Teil des Projekts ist.

Die Vielfalt innerhalb unserer Gruppe wurde bei diesem Treffen noch deutlicher. Freiwillige mit unterschiedlichen Hintergründen und einem reichen Erfahrungsschatz aus Leben und Beruf kamen zusammen, was den Austausch von Geschichten und Ideen besonders bereichernd machte. Wir hatten Mitwirkende aus fast allen unseren Teams (Linguistik, IT, Strategie und Kommunikation), von 3 Kontinenten und mit 6 Muttersprachen (wobei Portugiesisch bei weitem die am häufigsten vertretene Sprache war)! Wir vertieften uns auch in Diskussionen über Sprache und Kommunikation, die im Mittelpunkt unserer Arbeit stehen. Ein besonders unvergesslicher Moment war, als wir ein Brettspiel spielten, das sich um die Symbole drehte, die wir verwenden. Dieses Spiel brachte nicht nur Spaß, sondern half auch allen, die ikonische Sprache besser zu verstehen und zu nutzen.

Insgesamt war das Barbecue ein großer Erfolg, das die Stärke unserer vielfältigen und dynamischen Gemeinschaft von Freiwilligen hervorhob. Wir freuen uns auf viele weitere solche Treffen in der Zukunft, hoffentlich auch in anderen Regionen, in denen mehrere KomunIKON-Freiwillige in einer gemeinsamen Gegend leben.

Célébration de notre premier barbecue d'été

Cet été, KomunIKON a organisé son tout premier barbecue pour notre groupe dévoué de bénévoles vivant dans la partie francophone de la Suisse. La rencontre s'est déroulée dans le magnifique paysage suisse au bord du lac Léman, offrant un cadre idéal pour une journée remplie de longues conversations, de délicieux plats et de boissons rafraîchissantes. Ce fut une expérience unique de se rencontrer en personne, en passant de nos interactions virtuelles habituelles à des échanges en face à face. L'un des moments forts a été la rencontre avec l'un de nos mentors, qui est avec le projet depuis longtemps.

La diversité au sein de notre groupe est devenue encore plus évidente au cours de cette rencontre. Des bénévoles issus de divers horizons et dotés d'une grande richesse d'expériences personnelles et professionnelles se sont réunis, rendant l'échange d'histoires et d'idées incroyablement enrichissant. Nous avions des collaborateurs de presque toutes nos équipes (linguistique, informatique, stratégie et communication), venant de 3 continents et parlant 6 langues maternelles (le portugais étant de loin la langue la plus représentée) ! Nous avons également approfondi les discussions sur la langue et la communication, qui sont au cœur de notre travail. Un moment particulièrement mémorable fut lorsque nous avons joué à un jeu de société centré sur les icônes que nous utilisons. Ce jeu n'a pas seulement été amusant, il a aussi aidé chacun à mieux comprendre et utiliser le langage iconique.

Dans l'ensemble, le barbecue a été un grand succès, mettant en lumière la force de notre communauté de bénévoles, diversifiée et dynamique. Nous nous réjouissons à l'idée d'organiser de nombreux autres rassemblements de ce type à l'avenir, espérons-le également dans d'autres régions où plusieurs bénévoles de KomunIKON vivent dans une même zone.

УКРАЇНСЬКА

Святкування нашого першого літнього барбекю

Цього літа KomunIKON провів своє перше барбекю для нашої відданої групи волонтерів, які проживають у франкомовній частині Швейцарії. Зустріч відбулася на тлі мальовничих швейцарських пейзажів біля Женевського озера, що забезпечило ідеальну атмосферу для дня, наповненого довгими розмовами, смачною їжею та освіжаючими напоями. Це був унікальний досвід – зустрітися особисто, перейшовши від наших звичних віртуальних зустрічей до спілкування віч-на-віч. Одним із найважливіших моментів стало знайомство з одним із наших наставників,  який давно працює над проектом.

Різноманітність у нашій групі стала ще більш очевидною під час цієї зустрічі. Волонтери з різних культур та з багатим життєвим і професійним досвідом зібралися разом, що зробило  обмін історіями та ідеями неймовірно плідними. Ми мали співпрацю з майже всіма нашими командами (лінгвістика, IT, стратегія та комунікація), представниками з 3 континентів і 6 рідних мов (португальська була найбільш представленою)! Ми також заглибилися в обговорення питань мови та комунікації, які є центральними для нашої роботи. Особливо пам’ятним моментом була гра в настільну гру, засновану на візуальних іконах, які ми використовуємо. Ця гра не лише розважала, а й допомогла всім краще зрозуміти та використовувати іконічну мову.

Загалом, барбекю стало великим успіхом, підкресливши силу нашої різноманітної та динамічної волонтерської спільноти. Ми з нетерпінням чекаємо на подальші такі зустрічі в майбутньому, і, можливо, також в інших регіонах, де мешкають волонтери KomunIKON.
